Introduction
The Jones family of Frongoy can proudly boast an unbroken link in the breeding of Welsh Ponies and Cobs of Section A, C and D of the Welsh Stud Book since 1936. The river ARTH which flows through the pasture land has inspired the prefix FRONARTH which has justifiably gained itself world-wide reputation. The stud is synonymous with the legendary names of “MATHRAFAL”, “CAHN DAFYDD”, “FRONARTH WHAT HO” “BRENIN DAFYDD”, “LLEUCU QUEEN” and the present day “GWELFRO
TYWYSOG”, “CYTTIR TELYNOR”, “FRONARTH WELSH MODEL”, and “FRONARTH BONEDDIGES” has added lustre of its repute.

The Stud holds the record for the number of wins in The Welsh Cob Youngstock classes at Lampeter Welsh Breeds show.

10 George Prince of Wales winners have been conceived on
Frongoy:- 4 by Mathrafal after returning to Frongoy at the age of 17 years, 3 by Cahn Dafydd in his old age, one by Brenin Dafydd, one by
Cyttir Telynor and one by Golden Sunshine.

Bought
as a foal at Builth Wells Sale, he won Lampeter Stallion
Show as a yearling, was Youngstock Champion at the Royal
Welsh and was Reserve for the George Prince of Wales
Cup as a 3 year old. He was also Youngstock Champion and
Reserve Cob Champion at the Royal of England as a 3 year
old. He was twice a George Prince of Wales Cup winner at
the Royal Welsh, as a 4 year old and again as a 9 year
old. Cyttir Telynor has been Welsh Cob Champion at the
Royal of England, Meirioneth County and United Counties
Shows and has been a winner of the W.P.C.S. Sire

the Royal Welsh. He sired a George Prince of Wales Cup winner

We brought Lausanne from her breeder Christopher
Jones of the Llamri Stud in October 2005. On her first showing year as a Brood mare she
was Supreme Cob Champion Aberystwyth and Northleach. Then having won as a three old in
the Royal Welsh with her breeders it was a tearful moment for them to watch Lausanne take
the supreme Accolade for the Welsh cob " The George Prince Wales cup" in 2006.
